Competition: Looking for the best IT manager

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications (MKM) and the Estonian Information Technology and Telecommunications Union (ITL) announce the “Best IT Manager” competition. Outstanding IT managers can be submitted or self-nominated until November 4. The winner of the title will be announced on November 14 at Estonia’s largest management and technology conference Telia Digital Hub.

Do you know any IT managers who have used technology to bring about a significant leap forward in their organization and have had an impact in other sectors as well? Or have you successfully led major changes in the IT field yourself and thereby created a completely new value? If so, register yourself or your manager for the best IT manager competition!

According to ITL CEO Doris Põllu, the importance and responsibility of the position of IT manager is increasing. “Increasingly, there is a desire to digitize and automate processes, at the same time various cyber threats are lurking around every corner and artificial intelligence and the risks and opportunities that accompany it are forcefully invading. In the rapidly changing digital world, those who keep organizations on the right course in turbulent times must be recognized,” said Põld.

Madis Tapupere, head of technologies at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, said that it is necessary to emphasize the role of IT managers in the success of organizations. “We want to highlight IT managers who have supported business development through digitization and implemented innovative solutions in their work, thus achieving outstanding results,” he explained the purpose of the competition.

The promoters of the competition are the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications together with the Estonian Information Technology and Telecommunications Union. The winner of the “Best IT Manager” competition will be announced at the largest management and technology conference in Estonia on November 14. Telia Digital Hub.
