This section includes the construction of the interchange “Zrenjanin – West”, which will be one of the two entrances to the highway near the city. The works currently cover about 2.5 kilometers, and in the immediate vicinity there is also a base for digging sand, which is necessary for filling the highway corridor, writes the eKapija portal.

Contractor, Shandong High Speed Group, is building a road simultaneously from two directions – from Belgrade and Zrenjanin. The works first started from the direction of Belgrade, from the future interchange “Ovca” to Jabučki rit, on a length of about 3 kilometers.

The planned highway, the first on the territory of Banat, will be 105.4 kilometers long, and the planned the construction completion period is six years. A third of the route, about 35 kilometers, will pass through the territory of the City of Zrenjanin, from the bridge over the Tamis near Orlovat, all the way to the bridge over the Tisa near Aradac.

According to eKapija, in addition to these bridges, a bridge will be built over Begej, as well as a bridge over Tamis, near the settlement of Jabuka.

Four bridges will be built over the canal and the passage for the road, even over the intersection with the railway. The plan also includes 20 overpasses, 7 underpasses and 47 culverts.

The highway section between Belgrade and Zrenjanin will be 67 kilometers long, while the Zrenjanin-Novi Sad section will be 38 kilometers long. The projected speed on the highway is 130 km/h, which means that it will the trip between Zrenjanin and Belgrade takes only half an hourwhile the journey from Zrenjanin to Novi Sad will take 15-20 minutes.

As announced, the section from Belgrade to Kovačica with a length of 30 kilometers should be built first.
