Consumer prices in August increased by 0.8 percent compared to the previous month

SARAJEVO – In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in August, consumer prices increased by 0.8 percent on average compared to the previous month.

In August, compared to the same month in 2023, prices rose by 1.6 percent, the Federal Bureau of Statistics announced.

Prices increased in the sections housing, water, electricity, gas and other energy sources by 2.5 percent, food and soft drinks by 1.2 percent, clothing and footwear by 1.1 percent, recreation and culture by 0.7 percent, restaurants and hotels by 0.6 percent and other goods and services by 0.5 percent.

The prices of furniture, household appliances and regular home maintenance increased by 0.4 percent, alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 0.2 percent and healthcare by 0.1 percent.

Transportation prices fell by 1.8 percent and education by 0.6 percent.

In the Communications section, on average, prices did not change
