In this context, the Ministry of Directorate General for Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance The 28th Consumer Council was held under the coordination of
Deputy Minister of Trade Mahmut Gurcan The council, chaired by Mr. Özcan, was attended by chairmen and members of consumer organizations, representatives of the private sector and relevant public institutions and organizations.
In the first part of the council, where the problems of consumers and solution suggestions were discussed, representatives of the relevant associations expressed the current problems of consumers.
In the second part, “European Union Digital Services regulations and developments in Turkey, New Needs in the Digital Age and Collective Protection of Consumers“, “Reflection of EU Digital Transformation Policies on Product Safety Legislation” ve “Discussion of Agenda Proposals from Relevant Institutions and Organizations Regarding the Council AgendaWorkshop groups were formed on the topics titled ” and the results of the workshops were presented to the council.
Following the general evaluation of the results in question, the council’s decisions were drawn up by the delegates.
While the Consumer Council has taken many decisions to improve the rights of consumers and to resolve consumer problems experienced in practice, this year, important decisions to be taken regarding consumer protection will be notified to the relevant institutions and organizations and the decisions will be followed up by the Ministry of Trade.
