Amicia has come of age in the second part of the graphically incredibly detailed A Plague Tale saga, and you would be hard-pressed to find a more accurately portrayed heroic girl who, with her fearlessness, combativeness and dedication, will outshine the perverted nobles and knights in armor.
Although Amicia must literally walk over corpses, with a crossbow on her back and a sling in her hand, she is not intimidated by hordes of deadly rats or self-centered characters who crave power. Has it grown on you too?
In A Plague Tale: Requiem, let’s see the huge benefit of the individual scaled profiles of the Super Resolution technology and the full frame generator. In the graph above, you can see a really noticeable increase in FPS, and thus the smoothness of the game. In the case of comparing the influence of the Frame Generation, it is another seven-mile jump. In reality, we are talking about the contribution of the Frame Generation technology itself by an average of 42% across the Super Resolution profiles.

Alan Wake starring Alan Wake 2 of the same name
The mysterious novelist and titular character of the game, Alan Wake, is quite possibly the most prominent writer to emerge from the game saga, and his writing also sets the flow of events in motion while he himself tries to escape the darkness. Although he is a person who at first glance does not have much self-confidence due to the circumstances, his ability to control the word is admirable.
His struggle with the dark being and the contrast with the antagonistic form of Scratch is all the more impressive. We won’t tell you more, but the strength of Alan’s character lies mainly in his determination and intransigence. That is why it also has its place of honor in the selection.
Alan Wake 2 is a showcase of DLSS 3.5, which, as in the case of Cyberpunk 2077, in this latest version allows the Tensor core of the graphics cards to be used for AI rendering of the Ray Reconstruction function. The card will thus focus on ray-rendered effects of lights, shadows and reflections, and a rainy, darkened street is the ideal place where you can see for yourself the benefits of advanced ray tracing.
Not only does Ray Reconstruction add a degree of detail to reflections, but it also helps improve fluidity and achieve higher FPS. We used the demanding High preset profile for ray tracing and in combination with the enabled Frame Generation function and the balanced Super Resolution profile Ray Reconstruction was able to push the frame rate from unplayable to a very decent 53 FPS and in combination with other Super Resolution profiles you can get even further smoother experience.
Quirky GlaDOS from Portal with RTX
And here we have a tribute to fans of Valve games. GlaDOS, or Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System, is not quite a typical humanoid character, but in short, this sociopathic operating system is portrayed in a physical form in the game Portal so significantly that we simply had to include it in the nomination. In addition, it can probably be said that they will also expand the number of female nominees.
This intelligent computer system’s hobbies are improving the efficiency of portal devices, testing subjects, and promising cakes as rewards. And neurotoxin too. Geralt of Rivia and the ageless The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
If anyone has the ambition to be the true embodiment of charisma in the gaming world, it’s Geralt. Popular among players and often controversial and even hated in his game world, the witcher with a whitish beard and long hair rendered by NVIDIA HairWorks technology commands respect with every sentence he utters in his deep voice. Whether it’s a simple “Mhm” or a sarcastic threat.
At first glance, the inaccessible and sometimes threatening White Wolf, who is a master of defeating monsters, has great tendencies towards loyalty, decisiveness and evaluation of morals. Although of course the player’s handwriting dictates his direction, Geralt is an iconic character in gaming as a whole. Wild Hunt is such an acclaimed work that we do not allow ourselves to question its nomination at all.
How does resolution upscaling via DLSS Super Resolution affect image quality? It’s easy to see on Geralt’s armor that Super Resolution really tries to maintain the highest possible quality even when rendering at a significantly lower input resolution and counting up to the native 2560 x 1600 px. You may notice a marginal decrease in detail on the metal rings, but only when using the Performance profile. We present the Ultra performance mode only for demonstration purposes. Rather, NVIDIA recommends using it only when playing in a really high resolution above 4K. Nevertheless, specifically in the case of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the image degradation is really low.
Here, too, we tested the benefit of the Frame Generation function in the truly maximum quality setting, with a resulting benefit of not too far from 50% in all profiles. As you can see, Wild Hunt can still torment current hardware with the highest settings, but Frame Generation does not bow down to it. Great!
