‘Controversial’ dance after defeating Pakistan, police complaint against Yuvraj-Raynad

India won the World Championship of Legends by defeating arch-rivals Pakistan. After winning the title, captain Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina celebrated in a strange manner in the dressing room. Yuvraj, Harbhajan, Raina and Gurkeet danced to the tune of ‘Tawba-Tawba’ in Instagram relay. But a controversy started over their dancing style, due to which a police complaint was lodged against them.

After becoming the champion, Harbhajan posted a video on social media Instagram. Although it is meant to be funny, it is embarrassing to a section of netizens. In the Instagram relay, Yuvraj, Harbhajan, Raina and Gurkeer are seen grooving to the tune of ‘Tawba-Tawba’. Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal was also tagged in the video, as the song was used in one of his movies.

Although many of the netizens took the matter as funny, many were seen expressing their anger. It has been alleged that they have mocked the physically challenged through this dance.

Arman Ali, executive officer of the National Center for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) did not like their dancing. After seeing Yuvraj’s dancing like this, Aman Colony filed a complaint at the police station.

In Harbhajan’s video posted on Instagram, Armaan Ali appeared to be mocking the physically challenged in his hoofing act. Because of which he filed a complaint. A complaint was also filed against Instagram for allowing such content to be presented in public.

Meanwhile, India’s Para Badminton star Mansi Joshi did not like Harbhajan’s dance. He also expressed his anger on social media after seeing such dance.

However, Harbhajan has also argued in his own behalf. But he removed the video from social media. In a tweet, the former Indian spinner said, ‘To those who are complaining about the Tauba-Tauba video posted on social media after winning the championship in England, we want to make it clear that we did not want to hurt anyone’s sentiments. We respect every individual and community. In fact, it was done to show how our physical condition was after playing cricket for 15 days straight.’

He added, ‘It was not our intention to hurt or disrespect anyone. If anyone still thinks we made a mistake, I sincerely apologize. Please end the matter here.’
