Copenhagen students must be taught mental health

Pilot project in Copenhagen

The pilot project ‘Mental health on the school schedule’ has been adopted in connection with the agreement on Copenhagen Municipality’s budget for 2025, and DKK 2.4 million has been set aside over two years.

It must be developed and a teaching concept is tested, which must be handled by teachers from outside.

About 25 classes distributed among 10-12 Copenhagen youth programs must participate in the project.

In Copenhagen 10 percent of young people are at the lowest end of the World Health Organization’s well-being index, which indicates a high risk of depression and stress. Nationally, the figure is 8 percent.
