Corvinul goes further in the European cups! It would be normal news, if the team that won the Romanian Cup had been in the first three or four places in League 1 at the end of last season, and the opponents they met, Paksi and Rijeka, would have been in this area, in terms of value .
But Hunedoara is the big surprise of Romanian football! Tick off at least three European doubles, move on from today’s defeat and, whatever the outcome of the next continental games, will remain in the history of the phenomenon in our country.

They scored quickly in the second leg with Rijeka

Even after the miss, the Romanians held on well. They stayed active and rolled towards the Croatian goal, hoping to take the match beyond 10 and then two more minutes of overtime. Obregon (90+7) asked for a penalty in the only more dangerous phase of Rijeka in overtime. Only the commentator of one of the stations that broadcast the match in Romania took his side: in fact, the contact between the player and the goalkeeper from Corvinul was a few tens of centimeters outside the box.
Corvinul finished with a corner where he also attacked the goalkeeper: there was no chance for an equalization and further extra time.
The team from Hunedoara goes further in the Conference League, it remains to be seen how FRF will proceed if Buș & .co will go through and the double with Astana (Kazakhstan), if they will be again postponed matches and if, at a later date, the situation of the Hunedorens regarding will be resolved the right to promotion in League 1.
100 Corvin fans, all in the cage!
Corvinul had about 100 supporters in the away game from Rijeka.
Half traveled with a coach provided by the club, the others by plane or personal cars.
The Romanian fans were placed in a “cage”, behind the right gate of the stadium in Rijeka. The Lighthouse at the stadium in Ovidiu has an approximately the same cage, but only on half of the lawn!
