More than 30 Cossacks joined the squads used for security at the Service site in Sosnovy Bor of the Border Department. They are on duty in the cities of Ivangorod and Slantsy, the urban village of Lebyazhye in the Leningrad region, the press service of the regional government reports.
Volunteers guarding the state border in the region are supported by regional authorities, said regional vice-governor Mikhail Ilyin.
Let us recall that earlier the head of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko, allocated funds to stimulate and materially support citizens actively participating in the protection of the state border, including from among Cossack societies.
Earlier it was reported that Russian volunteers and terrorist defense fighters were required to take an oath in front of the flag.
