For a 50-liter tank, it is an additional cost of 10 euros per filling
In Italy, drivers have to check carefully that you are not at the pumps where the worker fills you with fuel – because that can cost more. At some gas stations, the prices for your own refueling (fai da te) and for the service when an employee refuels you (servito) are displayed.
Looking at the price table does not reveal how much you will pay, because you will be in for an unpleasant surprise at the checkout, if a worker helps you fill up with fuel, the service can cost more than 20 cents per liter.
For a 50-liter tank, it is an additional cost of 10 euros per filling, warned the German Automobile Club (ADAC). You also run the risk of paying a surcharge even if you filled the fuel yourself as this can happen if you use a pump that lists a surcharge. That’s why you should look carefully to see if there is an inscription somewhere – servito.
