Over the nine months of this year, Rospotrebnadzor specialists checked more than 6.4 thousand samples of milk and dairy products in St. Petersburg stores. Almost 2% of the samples taken turned out to be fake and almost the same number did not meet the standards for microbiological indicators.
At the same time, no GMOs or excess levels of antibiotics or radioactive substances were found in any of the tested samples, the press service of the St. Petersburg department of the department reported.
However, during the inspections, violations of the rules for storing and selling dairy products were recorded. Thus, in the Northern capital, some goods with incorrect labeling and products that did not comply with technical regulations were withdrawn from sale.
It was previously reported that 70% of all butter sold in St. Petersburg is counterfeit, and every second pack of tea from city stores was found to be underweight.
