Couple: here is “the” problem that leads to breakup between 18 and 60 years old

Life as a couple is not always smooth sailing. Whether you are 18 years old or 55 years old, whether you are heterosexual or homosexual, whether you live in the city or in the countryside… everyday life as a couple is full of challenges that we must overcome together to avoid a painful breakup.

Exactly: a recent survey, carried out by the Koréis firm for the Coopleo.care platform among 1,056 French people (from 18 years to over 60 years, 83% being in a heterosexual relationship), looked at the main difficulties encountered by couples of different generations.

14% of men surveyed have already been unfaithful

First interesting information:THE communication or trust issues dominate among respondents aged between 18 and 60 (21% among 18-29 and 45-60 year olds, 31% among 30-44 year olds).

It’s not easy to “put things straight” in the event of disagreement, to express oneself clearly and calmly in the event of an argument, or to have one’s needs and limits respected when communication is not fluid between the two partners! As for trust, it can sometimes be mistreated within the couple: 14% of the men questioned (all ages) admit to having already been unfaithful… compared to only 7% of women.

The distribution of domestic tasks, a cause of rupture

Second major problem which can lead to rupture: the distribution of domestic tasks. Thus, 19% of respondents aged 18 to 29, 29% of 30-44 year olds, and 15% of those over 60 complain about it! Unsurprisingly, “the survey reveals that problems of distribution of mental load and domestic tasks are felt more by women than by men“…

Third concern highlighted by this survey: “of the problems or conflicts related to the (in-law) family“. These are mentioned by 15% of respondents aged 18 to 29, 21% of 30-44 year olds, and 15% of 45-60 year olds. Hence the need to set limits and (once again ) to communicate well with his/her dear and tender one.
