Coway (CEO Jang-won Seo) announced on the 5th that it has created ‘Coway Ecological Forest No. 1′ in the outdoor park on the 3rd floor of the headquarters’ G Tower located in Guro-gu, Seoul, as part of its eco-friendly ESG activities.
The ‘Coway Ecological Forest’ project is a biodiversity conservation project that promotes biodiversity and creates an environment that serves as a habitat for wild animals by planting endangered plants designated by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Korea Forest Service in ecological forests.
The first ‘Coway Ecological Forest No. 1′ was created through social contribution activities with executives and employees and their families. In the outdoor park flower bed on the 3rd floor of the Seoul headquarters’ G Tower, internationally endangered plants designated by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) such as Dume chives, Manlihwa, Miseon tree, and Busan talisman, as well as domestic endangered plants and rare plants designated by the Korea Forest Service, and only on the Korean Peninsula. A total of 1,750 native plants, including native specialty plants, were planted. In addition, a shelter where various birds and insects can live has also been prepared.
Coway plans to actively communicate with employees and local residents in the ecological forest, promote ecological education activities to protect and preserve the ecosystem, and conduct environmental programs for children and youth that spread the value of biodiversity.

Meanwhile, Coway is carrying out various internal and external eco-friendly ESG activities to participate in environmental protection and spread a culture of practicing environmental protection in everyday life. The eco-friendly ‘River Plogging Campaign’ was held for three consecutive years to encourage people to pick up trash near the water, the ‘Clean School Classroom Forest Project’ was to donate air purifying plants to elementary schools, and the ‘EM Clay Ball Making and Throwing Activity’ was held to purify the water quality of Anyang Stream.
