A young man was detained by the police in Botoşani after he stole a car, drove drunk, without a license and caused an accident in which nine cars were damaged, the representatives of the Botoşani County Police Inspectorate (IPJ) announced on Tuesday.
According to them, the 22-year-old, from the municipality of Botoşani, is under criminal investigation for committing the crimes of theft for the purpose of use, driving without a license, driving under the influence of alcohol.
“Investigations revealed the fact that he stole a car from Împarat Traian street, which he drove, without a driver’s license and being under the influence of alcohol, 0.56 mg/l on the breathalyzer. In this context, the young man damaged 9 cars. He tried to evade the investigations, being pursued both by law enforcement and by citizens, who contributed to his identification. The young man was found in a block of stairs,” IPJ officials said.
