Creative City, a new impact partnership. Collaboration with Inter Cars Romania in the “Young Car Mechanic” and “The Future Begins Today” projects, engine for the development of the next generation of car mechanics

The training and recruitment of the labor force in car mechanics is a real challenge, and the “Young Car Mechanic” and “Viitorul Pornește Azi” projects address precisely this situation. The Creative City communication agency came up with a fresh approach within the new partnership developed alongside Inter Cars Romania, the market leader in the distribution of car parts and accessories. In order to support the growth of the new generations of specialists in the field and at the same time increase the attractiveness of the industry in order to discover young talents, Creative City and Inter Cars Romania have launched the “Young Car Mechanic” and “The Future Starts Today” projects at the local level, two impact initiatives, which target young people who want to become car mechanics. In parallel, they are addressed to parents, with the aim of making them responsible for preventing school dropouts, but also to technical educational institutions, which play a considerable role in the perpetuation of professional occupations among the new generations.

Skills maxed out in the “Young Car Mechanic” competition

The “Young Car Mechanic” project took place in the form of a competition in which high school students from dual education schools were challenged to demonstrate their knowledge and put their practical skills to good use. The objectives were to promote and support talented young people in the field of auto mechanics, and they were fulfilled in terms of numbers: no less than 600 students from 89 vocational schools and technical high schools registered and thus had access to meetings with specialists and trainers from industry. The large number of participants attracted to the competition demonstrated that auto mechanics remains an interesting industry, which is worth exploring, and the adrenaline of the final was captured by the television cameras present at the event.

“The Future Starts Today” for the new generations of specialists

“Viitorul Pornește Azi”, the second project in which Creative City left its mark with a creative approach, is a continuation of “Young Car Mechanic” and represents an initiative carried out by Inter Cars Romania in partnership with VARTA. Here, the agency came up with the initiative to highlight the involvement of actors from the private sector in the training of the workforce in the technical field and the contribution they can have in the growth of the industry. The action took the form of a series of hands-on training sessions where 350 students had the opportunity to be mentored by qualified specialists with extensive industry experience. Like “Young Car Mechanic”, this campaign also had, in turn, the objective of highlighting the need for continuous professional education in the field and raising new generations of specialists to take over the reins and bring their know-how further when the time is right.

In the communication strategy built around the two projects, Creative City relied on a personalized approach, which would fit the needs and career goals of young people. The agency emphasized the importance of the technical training of new professionals, underlining the opportunities that come with a career in the automotive industry.

Common values, the key to a successful partnership

“Collaboration with Creative City came naturally, in the context of our communication needs, and we appreciate the level of support provided during each stage of the ongoing projects. Obviously, these projects aim at long-term goals, so we want a continuous development of our partnership,” said Victor GavronschiDirector of Events Inter Cars Romania.

“We set out to develop communication strategies that would directly reach the target audience of these projects – young people passionate about auto mechanics, who are looking for a smooth professional path and, of course, their parents, essential for reducing school dropout in dual education. For their part, teachers and school inspectors, important partners in the projects, were targeted by the messages communicated to ensure continuous support in these efforts. It is an honor to be partners of Inter Cars Romania in these initiatives that promote professional training and innovation in the automotive field”, says Andrea ReteaPR Director and founder of Creative City.

According to her, beyond a deep understanding of the need for continuous education and training, among the common values that form the basis of the successful partnership developed with Inter Cars Romania are responsibility towards society and the desire to have an impact on future generations.
