Crin Antonescu: “It is obvious that I trust Marcel Ciolacu”

Crin Antonescu declared, on Monday evening, on Antena 3 CNN, that he has confidence in Marcel Ciolacu and the support of the PSD, although there were party leaders who contested his candidacy.

Crin Antonescu: “It is obvious that I trust Marcel Ciolacu”

“It is obvious that I trust the PSD institution and its current leader, Marcel Ciolacu. To their proposal and his, first of all, as prime minister and president of the largest party in this coalition, I answered yes. What would it have been like to not trust? Of course I have confidence. And I continue to trust,” said Antonescu.

Antonescu admitted, however, that the critical statements coming from some PSD leaders may raise questions:

“Obviously you’re not the only one who has a question mark, I ask myself too. I don’t suspect him of insincerity, I don’t suspect him of any work, But if you let three party leaders speak in public against the candidate you you designated it under the signature, that leaves room for interpretation.”

The former PNL president, common candidate for the presidency, appointed by the government coalition, explained that he understands the dynamics of a large party:

“I also led a party, a party in which many voices always spoke. I know what a big party means, I know how delicate the position of the leader can be in these delicate circumstances.”

Antonescu stated that he is waiting for Marcel Ciolacu to clarify the situation and reaffirm PSD’s support for his candidacy:

“I’m waiting for Mr. Ciolacu to do… maybe I somehow helped Mr. Ciolacu clarify this.”
