Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu will travel, on Saturday, September 14, to Galati county, where several localities were affected by floods.
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu has canceled his political and governmental program that he had in Botoşani and will travel to Galati County to assess the situation caused by the floods”, announced the Executive.
According to the cited source, Marcel Ciolacu will discuss with the local authorities the urgent intervention and support measures for the population and communities seriously affected by the floods.
The heavy rains that affected Galati county resulted in the death of two people, one of them being swept away by the flood, and another being found dead in the house. Also, dozens of people were evacuated, and several sections of national and county roads are closed due to heavy rains and floods. Railway traffic is blocked on Saturday morning between Galati and Bârlad. In some localities, the water exceeded 1.5 meters. Four deaths were reported and DSU chief Raed Arafat mentioned that SMURD helicopters were being sent to rescue the affected people.
Marcel Ciolacu had scheduled a meeting with members of PSD Botoşani and a press conference on Saturday.
