At FBO (Fulfillment by Ozon) and the seller delivers his products to the marketplace warehouse in advance. After this, the marketplace takes on all the worries about storing and sending orders.

What are the advantages:

• Delivery speed. If the product is already in stock in the desired region, it will reach the buyer faster, giving you a competitive advantage. Often cards with FBO appear higher in search results, because the Ozone system takes this factor into account when ranking. Speed ​​of delivery is also important for the modern buyer.

• Reduces the burden on operational processes: you don’t have to track orders and deal with shipping. The main thing is to maintain a sufficient supply of products in the warehouse.

But here the question arises: for whom will this model really be beneficial? For those who work with a large turnover of products and have the opportunity to plan deliveries to the warehouse in advance. It is also an excellent choice for sellers whose products are in high, ongoing demand.

FBS (Fulfillment by Seller) – another model in which the seller himself stores the goods in his warehouse, and the marketplace only deals with delivery.

You have to be careful here. An order has been received, the seller is obliged to pack it himself and take it to the order collection point. Next, the marketplace takes care of delivery to the buyer.

The disadvantage of this scheme is that Ozon cannot accurately guarantee the delivery time. After all, it depends on the speed of the seller’s reaction. Because of this, the system usually takes longer to deliver, which can negatively impact sales.

FBS is better suited for sellers who work with niche products or those products for which delivery times are not a key factor.

The price depends on the type of packaging and delivery region. Important: the cost of cross-docking is determined not by a specific reception point, but by the tariff zone to which it belongs.

The main factor is the size and type of cargo space. There are several categories of packaging: European-style pallets and boxes of different sizes: S, M, L and XL.

The box size is determined at the warehouse during processing and is rounded to the nearest larger value. That is, if your box is slightly larger than size S, the cost will be calculated at the rate for size M.

To do this in your personal account:

1. Click on the “Refine cross-docking forecast” button.

2. Select the type of cargo space in which you plan to bring the products.

If the actual data coincides with the data indicated, the final price will be as in the forecast. However, if at the time of acceptance something changes, for example, the size of the box or the number of seats, the cost will be recalculated based on actual data.

For Super deliveries the site gives a 50% discount. Super products are products that generate good revenue and sell quickly.

The list of Super-goods is located in the Personal Account in the FBO → “Delivery Requests” section. To receive it, in a new application, click “Download template with Super-products.” A file with such products will be downloaded to your computer.

Criteria for Super Products:

• median price of 1000 rubles and above over the last 28 days;

• the product is marked “New”;

• every day sales are 1000 rubles and more.

A delivery is considered Super if it contains more than 70% Super goods. In this case, it is the total number of products that is counted, and not unique items.

To use this service on the marketplace, sellers must meet several mandatory conditions:

1. Packaging and labeling. The seller does this himself, which simplifies the sorting and delivery process.

2. Compliance with standards. This helps to avoid returns and errors during the acceptance process.

3. Product restrictions. For example, perishable or large items may require special conditions.

4. Exact arrival time. The driver must deliver the shipment at the designated time slot.

2. Select the goods you will send.

3. Prepare documents and packaging according to the marketplace instructions.

4. Deliver the consignment to the specified warehouse for further dispatch.

Personal account and warehouse selection. Log in to the seller’s personal account and go to the FBO page. Select the option: “Deliver to a specific warehouse” or “Delivery request”. Enable cross-docking and move the switch to the active position.

Region selection. Specify the region of delivery. There will be two warehouses in this field: the receiving point and the destination warehouse. If you are sending to several warehouses, create a separate request for each.

Product selection. Decide on the products you want to send and indicate their quantity. Before submitting your application, be sure to check warehouse restrictions to avoid errors.

Creating an application. The application will appear on the FBO page in the “Delivery applications” → “Preparation for deliveries” section. Here you can track the status of your registration.

Labels and timeslot. Download and print the labels that need to be affixed to each package. Then select a convenient time to deliver the goods to the receiving point – this is called a timeslot. If after creating a request the number or type of packages has changed, make adjustments in the system, print new labels and replace old ones.

Filling out the UPD. Fill out and upload the universal transfer document (UTD) through the EDI system.

Product preparation and delivery. Pack the products according to the requirements of the warehouse and transfer them to the receiving point. It is not necessary to print out the delivery note and take it with you.

Checking the acceptance certificate. Please check the acceptance certificate for errors within 5 days after delivery. If something doesn’t match, you can cancel the act and make changes.

Advantages:

1. Fast delivery of goods to customers.

2. Minimizing storage costs. Eliminating the need for long-term storage reduces overall logistics costs.

Flaws:

1. Limited list of products. Not everyone is suitable for cross-docking. For example, auto products and large items may require separate approval.

2. Requirements for packaging and labeling. Sellers must ensure proper packaging themselves, which eats up a lot of time.

3. Problems with slot availability. Sometimes warehouses are overloaded and sellers are faced with a lack of free slots. This requires advance planning and causes shipping delays.
