Chindia is playing its second match at home this season in League 2, after winning 2-1 against CSC Şelimbăr in the first. CS Afumați also has 6 points, which thanks to the 6-4 goal difference is in 13th place before the game in Târgoviște, the last of the 5th stage.
The newly-promoted Ilfov team in League 2 this summer comes after a big result for them, a penalty shootout win against first-division side Gloria Buzău, after 0-0 in regular time and 1-1 in overtime. Thus, Afumațiul climbed for the first time in the group stage of the Romanian Cup.
In the championship, Vasile Neagu’s team passed the rounds with 2-1, at home, against Metaloglobus, a team they beat with the same score two weeks ago, in Round 3 of the Romanian Cup. Metaloglobus had beaten Chindia 3-2 in the debut round.
The newly promoted team started the season with a 4-2 away win against Concordia Chiajna and lost at home against CS Mioveni (0-1).
