Cupra continues to strengthen its Formentor range with the introduction of new engines and versions to better respond to market demands. Two new engines, the 1.5 e-HYBRID da 272 CV DSG and the 2.0 TSI da 333 CV 4Drive DSGare now available in the VZ and VZ Extreme versions, further enriching the brand’s offering.
The specifications of the new e-HYBRID powertrains
The engine 1.5 e-HYBRID da 272 CV represents a new generation of plug-in hybrid powertrains. Combining an 85 kW (116 hp) electric motor with a 1,498 cc combustion engine producing 130 kW (177 hp), the system delivers a system output of 200 kW (272 hp) and 400 Nm of torque. This configuration ensures a smooth and controlled ride, with maximum torque available from just 850 rpm. The 19.7 kWh battery offer a 100% electric driving range of up to 119 km. In addition, AC charging has been improved and, for the first time, DC charging at up to 50 kW is also available.
The engine 2.0 TSI with 333 CV (245 CV) combined with the DSG automatic gearbox and 4Drive all-wheel drive introduces torque splitter technology, previously only available on the VZ5 version. This innovative technology distributes torque asymmetrically to each wheel on the rear axle, improving the driving dynamics of the new CUPRA Formentor VZ. Two control units manage a clutch that regulates the engine torque transmitted to each side of the rear axle, offering a more responsive and sporty driving experience.
What do the new versions add?
The new VZ versions e VZ Extreme add further distinctive elements to the Cupra offer. The VZ version includes standard features such as 19” SANDSTORM silver alloy wheels, Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), Diamica front bucket seats, Smart Wraparound ambient lighting, Keyless Advanced system, rear camera, hands-free electric tailgate and anti-theft system.
The version VZ Extremein addition to the VZ equipment, offers CUP bucket front seats, navigation system, LED Matrix headlights, Immersive by Sennheiser, Safe & Driving XL package, Brembo brake calipers for the 1.5 e-HYBRID version and Akebono brake calipers for the 2.0 TSI version, as well as pre-crash assist (front and rear).
Additionally, two new 19” alloy wheel designs have been introduced, called HAILSTORM Silver and HAILSTORM Copper, along with new body colours such as Glacial White metallic, Enceladus Grey and Magnetic Tech Matt.
