As they say from the camp Connected Agency Berlin band Cursesknown for his unique combination of romantic post-punk and electronic body music (EBM), will hold his own energetic concert at Zappa Base on February 19, 2025.as part of the European tour where they are promoting their new album Another Heaven. The album was released on October 25 for the famous publishing house Italians Do It Better and includes collaborations with Marie Davidson and Skelesys, continuing to define the band’s unique sound, a blend of dark, romantic new wave music and melancholic post-punk.
With a sound inspired by the melancholy of the 1980s and the DIY energy of early electronic body music, Curses combines cinematic textures with “spiritual” guitars, striking vocals and pulsating basslines. They perform live as a duo — Luca Venezia on guitar and vocals and Dame Bonnet on bass — creating a visceral experience of sound and movement, infused with album material and spontaneous krautrock-influenced improvisations.
Their latest album Another Heaven follows a string of acclaimed releases, including the singles “H2SG,” “Caviar,” “Elegant Death” and the album’s title track. Known for their artistic versatility, Curses have established themselves through music campaigns for Saint Laurent, Dior and Calvin Klein, as well as releases for labels such as Permanent Vacation, Bordello A Parigi and Oráculo Records.
Curses has made a global impact through performances at prestigious festivals and iconic clubs around the world, including Berghain (Berlin), Nuits Sonores (Lyon) and Ombra Festival (Barcelona). They shared the stage with pioneers such as Nitzer Ebb, Alessandro Cortisi and Charlotte Adigery, cementing their place in the contemporary new wave and EBM scene.
