The first day of the new system did not go well.
On January 15, Ügyfélkapu, which was the basis of online business administration in Hungary for many years, will cease to exist. From this date on, it will no longer be sufficient to use a username and password to access the various state websites, including the EESZT, magyarorszag.hu, eSZJA or ONYA interfaces. Citizens must switch to new identification systems to continue accessing online administration options.
According to the changes, two types of solutions are offered, one of which is an improved version of the Customer Gateway, the Customer Gateway+. This system complements the traditional login process with two-factor authentication, which increases security. However, the solution, which originally required smartphone or web authentication applications, caused difficulties for many, as the code generation is only valid for 30 seconds. Idomsoft Zrt. therefore announced that from January 14th, identification can be done with an e-mail confirmation code, thus expanding the possibilities of users.
However, there were technical difficulties on the first day of the introduction of the new function. According to several feedbacks, during registration, the system still offered only the authentication application, the e-mail option was not available. According to an administrator, the feature is being activated and citizens are asked to be patient. In a short statement, Idomsoft confirmed that e-mail identification will indeed be activated on the same day.
The purpose of the changes is to make online administration more secure, but the transition can be somewhat challenging for those who are not used to modern technologies. However, the introduction of an e-mail alternative is expected to make it easier for many to adapt to the new system.
