Dacia Sandero maintains its leading position in Europe after the first nine months of the year

The Dacia Sandero continues to be the most popular model sold in the European market in 2024, despite sales falling last month.

2024 is good for sales of Dacia’s subcompact hatchback. If last year it was the second best-selling car in Europe – after the Tesla Model Y – this year it is leading the ranking by far. According to the latest information provided by Data Force, the Romanian model continued to be the best-selling car in Europe during the month of September.

Between January and September 2024, the Dacia Sandero model was sold in 203,474 units. Thus, Sandero sales increased in the first months of 2024 by 16.4, compared to the same period last year. Volkswagen Golf and Renault Clio took the second and third places in the European ranking.

How many copies were sold in September?

Even though sales figures for the Sandero have fallen, it still holds the overall leadership position, followed by the Volkswagen Golf and the Renault Clio. However, the best-selling car in Europe in September is the Tesla Model Y electric SUV.

According to data provided by Data Force, the electric SUV was sold in more than 26,000 copies during the month of September. It was followed in the monthly sales ranking by the Volkswagen Tiguan, and the last step of the podium is occupied by the Renault Clio. Dacia Sandero was only the fourth best-selling model in September.

Also, the Dacia Duster SUV, produced at Mioveni, is currently ranked 12th in sales. In the first nine months of 2024, Dacia Sandero was sold in 129,700 units. All include both second-generation and third-generation models, which began shipping to customers earlier this summer.
