Urban couriers now have a delivery version of the Dacia Spring model.
This is it Dacia Spring Cargo. Those looking to deliver parcels cheaply with Spring should know that this cargo version is only on sale in the UK for now.
What does Spring Cargo have to offer? Lots of storage space. The van version of Europe’s cheapest electric car has to do without the rear seat, of course, but it logically gets a bigger boot instead.
According to Dacia, the small Romanian model can hold up to 1,085 liters. That’s a little more than the regular Spring with the rear seats folded (1,004 liters) and, of course, a lot more than the Spring without the rear seats folded (308 liters).
Dacia Spring Cargo… delivers!
The luggage compartment is separated from the front passengers by a grill that prevents objects from moving during sudden brakes. The luggage compartment can be accessed simply through the rear doors. Dacia Spring is only available with the 65 horsepower electric motor and is always painted in Polar White.
Inside, Dacia has not skimped on technology – there is a 10-inch screen for the infotainment system, smartphone connectivity, Bluetooth, cruise control and even a reversing camera. Plus, it has what’s called V2L (vehicle-to-load) capability, which means you can plug in your 240-volt gadgets and power up on the go.
In the city, the 26.8 kWh battery provides sufficient autonomy, with up to 186 miles (300 km) available or 140 miles (250 km) in the WLTP mixed cycle, as well as fast charging from 20% to 80% in 45 minutes.
The Spring Cargo costs £14,995 (about €18,025) ex VAT in the UK, making it the cheapest van in the country.
