We are leaving for Vilnius on the day of the continuation of this year’s endless summer – it is September, and a couple of years ago at this time we were wandering around Vilnius in jackets and hiding under an umbrella. This time, I don’t even take a jacket with me, because there is no need – it promises to be above 25 degrees all day!
Although we try to leave on time, urgent works introduce corrections and on the way we sit for a while in the gas tank of Bauskas with open computers. At least one thing is good: you can work anywhere with internet!
PLEASURE AND CHEESE ICE CREAM
We spend these days relaxing – eating, swimming, then eating again, walking, swimming and enjoying. The massage experience is especially memorable. At first, I am surprised to learn that my procedure will be done by masseuse Made from Bali, Indonesia. It turns out that the golden hands of these masseurs are already appreciated in Lithuania and at least half of those working in this field are from this distant land. Later I found out that Made has been living in Lithuania for five years! We laugh that she’s almost local, and the next forty minutes pass like a dream – the kind that we’ve been able to enjoy so far only in the Seychelles and the Maldives. As if there could be any difference – a massage remains a massage. But different – in small movements and even in the way she takes the elastic out of my hair.
When we decide to leave the hotel, the first stop is the Vilnius University Botanical Garden, which we have heard good reviews about for a long time. It is located a little outside the center and takes a little more than half an hour on the way. It’s Saturday, the streets are empty, and we go to the garden at a leisurely pace, observing the unusual design of the streets – many public transport lanes, lifts, otherwise rotating circles. How about parking? The botanical garden has its own, which is not very big, but without hesitation we park the car next to someone already standing there, from which a group of girls in cowboy hats and boots get out – probably another hen party photo session. But we buy tickets and go inside.
An ice cream stand immediately catches your eye. I tried kiwi ice cream for the first time from the same manufacturer a couple of months ago in Palanga and decided that I would try something new this time as well. But first – a walk!
