Dan Petrescu announced when Louis Munteanu will return to the field! The reaction of the coach from CFR Cluj after the gesture of Ciprian Deac, who threw down the captain’s armband

Dan Petrescu provided new details regarding his team’s top scorer, Louis Munteanu, who recently faced health problems. The return to the field will happen as soon as possible, maybe even against Gloria Buzău, in the next championship stage.

In the 66th minute of the match with FC Argeș in the Romanian Cup, Ciprian Deac was replaced by Alin Fică, and the decision annoyed him so much that he threw the captain’s armband onto the turf. The technician also reacted on this topic.

Although they met a team from the second echelon, CFR Cluj got only one point, score 2-2. The goals were scored by Vasile Mogoș and Aly Abeid, respectively Florin Borța and Vlad Morar.

Louis Munteanu, close to returning. Dan Petrescu made the announcement

Immediately after the final whistle, Dan Petrescu revealed, among other things, that Louis Munteanu got over the injury and will resume training starting on Wednesday, October 30. As for Deac’s reaction, he avoided commenting on the grounds that he found out later.

“I didn’t see the phase with the armband, I was told afterwards. With Louis Munteanu, it’s clear, he was injured, he was lame. It’s over, we’re ok, they train normally from tomorrow, we’ll see what will happen in Buzău”, declared the Transylvanian coach.

Also present at the flash-interview, Adrian Păun jumped to the defense of his colleague, expressing his conviction that it was not an intentional gesture: “He wanted to throw it at me, he thought I was closer. I don’t think he’s mad. I took the armband and gave it to Djokovic, because I was also substituted. As far as I know Deac, he certainly didn’t do it on purpose.”

How Ciprian Deac motivated his nervous exit

Moreover, Ciprian Deac admitted that was irritated at the time of the changebut he put that attitude down to the failed performance and explained why he threw the armband away, adding that he feels proud every time he gets the chance to wear it.

“I was nervous, then I saw Paun coming towards me and I dropped the armband. I didn’t know he was changed too. I can’t be mad at Mister, I’m proud to wear the CFR armband, I can’t be mad.

I respect the club too much, it’s a pride to be the captain of the club. I was angry with myself, I saw that Paun was coming behind me, I didn’t know that he was also changed, and I left the armband like that, more pressed. Mister has done a lot for me, for CFR. I was angry with myself, that they didn’t work out”, said the CFR Cluj midfielder.
