The latest iPhone 16s have been selling happily for some time now, so we can slowly shift our focus to the next generation. It will arrive in autumn next year and relatively large changes are expected, including the replacement of the Plus model with a thin Air or Slim version. A new concept shows what the basic iPhone 17 could look like.
iPhone 17: More design changes?
Every year there is cautious speculation that Apple will change the design of the next generation of iPhones. This year, we finally got decent modifications, when the location of the camera lenses was changed for the basic iPhone 16 and the larger Plus version. And in a similar spirit, the changes could continue next year, when iPhones will continue without the Plus version.
It is not miraculously successful and will suffer the same fate as the Mini model from generations 12 to 13, i.e. end of production and replaced by another model. This should be an ultra-thin version labeled Air or Slim, and new information about it, as well as about the basic iPhone 17, was brought by the YouTube channel AppleTrack. The renderings of both of these phones look interesting.

A box with cameras
The new, thin iPhone should only have one camera, which has been talked about practically since the beginning of all speculations. Thanks to a single lens, this version will look like the iPhone 8 or the available iPhone SE. And we will focus on the camera in the basic iPhone 17, for which Apple should once again significantly change not only the layout of the lenses, but also the location of the camera itself.
The camera of the iPhone 17 will again consist of two lenses, but they will no longer be placed under each other in the upper left corner, but horizontally, i.e. next to each other, and the entire camera could reportedly be moved to the middle of the back. It looks very unusual and this layout, as well as the location, is reminiscent of the recently released Nothing Phone (2a). Definitely an interesting act, but what is the truth.
The thin iPhone 17 will be really expensive
A lot of speculation is also starting to swarm regarding the price of the iPhone 17 Air (Slim) and the latest ones are really quite wild. There is talk that this slim model could start at $1,299 (31,290 crowns without VAT), which is more than what the top model Pro Max currently costs. Will Apple fans be willing to pay that kind of money for a phone with only one camera? We will see how the situation around this thin iPhone will develop further.
