With the drop in outside temperatures, many people start thinking about escaping to warm regions. However, you won’t find warm seas and high temperatures anywhere in Europe during this period, so when planning such a winter vacation, the question arises of how to do it so that surfing the Internet on a mobile phone on the beach does not cost you dearly. Mobile operator O2 has good news for its customers. It has recently expanded its advantageous roaming packages also for prepaid cards.

O2 expands roaming packages

Sufficient mobile data on the go is indispensable today, be it when searching for a route, planning transport, or paying securely via banking applications. Thanks to roaming packages, users avoid the risks associated with connecting to unsecured Wi-Fi networks.

O2 offers its customers two roaming packages that differ in their data limit. The TOP World Extra 1 GB package costs CZK 299. However, the TOP Svět Extra 5 GB roaming package is even more advantageous, where you pay just one hundred crowns more for five times the data. Data from one package can be used for 30 days after ordering and you can travel with it to several countries at the same time.

Simple activation

Packages can be easily activated before a trip or at any time during a stay abroad – either via SMS or in the My O2 application, where users also get a constant overview of consumption. “With the My O2 app, customers have all their data roaming services in one place, saving them time and increasing security at the same time,” emphasizes Silvia Cieslarová, director of the mobile services segment at O2.

Where do Czechs most often go for warmth?

According to the statistics of operator O2, Czechs most often go to the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Egypt for warmth in the winter months, which are among the most popular non-European destinations.

Other frequently visited countries include the United States of America, Thailand, Vietnam, Canada, Sri Lanka, China and Mexico. However, travelers don’t have to limit themselves to these destinations. Roaming packages are valid in 62 countries outside the EU, covering up to 85% of O2 customers’ winter journeys.
