So far, we have managed three branches in SweClocker’s computer battle, where the wins in packaging, accessories and component choices went to Komplett. Now we have come to the round where the level of the computer construction itself must be assessed. One of the reasons you buy a ready-made computer is to have it assembled in a professional manner, and therefore it will be interesting to see if the retailers live up to this.
Here it is simply about assessing how well built the various computers are. To do that, we take off the side panels and take a look to see if everything looks good in terms of assembly. This also includes the cable routing, which is preferred when it needs to go quickly.
Completely
Gällandes Komplett’s computer feels generally well built, with a tidy experience when we look into the main chamber. Cable routing is good, with the exception of a power cable that runs almost the entire length of the motherboard to one of the front-mounted fans – a result of the fan connectors running out of more accessible places on the motherboard. The separate network card also reduces the impression of cleanliness somewhat, and the same applies to the double-bundled PCI Express cable.
On the back of the motherboard plate, the cable routing is approved, where the builder has primarily used the integrated Velcro straps in the chassis. However, it looks a bit messy at the bottom, and we might have wished that a few more cable ties had been used at the end.
Inet
Let’s roll on to Inet’s computer, which gives a very clean and pleasant impression in the main chamber. Well-executed cabling throughout, with the only standout being the double-bundled PCI Express power cable – something that’s inevitable when PSU cables are designed in such a way. Here, there is also an advantage to running AIO cooling over air, as that type of cooler gives a cleaner impression on the inside.
The net definitely sticks out when we look at the back of the motherboard plate. It is clear that the builder liked cable ties, where these have been used very extensively to hold the cables together and create a neat pull. Very good work!
Shark Gaming
Finally, we have Shark Gaming, who give a mixed impression in the main chamber. The general impression of the build is fully approved, but we do question whether it would not have been better to route the PCI Express power cable to the graphics card in a different way so that it does not block the rear fan.
When we turn our eyes to the back of the motherboard plate, it’s a sad sight to say the least. Loosely hanging cables and general clutter drag down the impression considerably. It also doesn’t make matters any better that the loose internal connector for USB Type-C hangs loosely naked behind the motherboard in the perfect position to short something.
With all computers reviewed, it is clear that the win is between two retailers, as Shark Gaming simply does not measure up here. Both Komplett and Inet have well-executed builds, but in the end it is still Inet that has given the system the most love and therefore they take home this round.
