Residents of New Forstadt inquired about the fate of the abandoned former Zeltkalna school building, located on Minskas Street: “There was information that this piece of land would be sold, but again there was silence. So there’s a big wreck in the center of the neighborhood.”
According to Alexey Nikolaevhead of the Real Estate Department in the Property Management Department of the Daugavpils City Council, during this year the local government repeatedly tried to sell this property through an auction. The price was reduced three times and as a result dropped from 1 million euros to 721 thousand. But, unfortunately, there were no takers.
