While the fires continue to raging through Los Angeles, in the most devastating fire in the city’s history, Dave Grohl joined the local community and entered the kitchen to feed those in need.
More than 180,000 people were displaced, and over 12,000 houses and buildings were destroyed. According to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner, 25 people have died in the fire and more than 20 are missing.
The city’s population of famous faces stepped up to help. Jamie Lee Curtis donated a million dollars for aid, and the drummer Arctic Monkeys, Matt Heldersjoined the video messaging service Cameo to raise funds for those affected in Los Angeles.
Frontman Foo FightersGrohl, also pitched in to provide meals for those in need. On his 56th birthday, January 14, 2025, Feed The Streets LA posted an Instagram Story showing the famous rocker preparing a pot of chili and helping to move supplies.
In a separate post, they wrote: “The city is burning, we must do our part to look out for our neighbors.” We appreciate the volunteers, we send positive energy to the displaced, and we honor (the firefighters).”
Grohl, a resident of Encino, a community in the San Fernando Valley that was threatened with evacuation but thankfully spared from the Pallasades fire, was clearly moved to help in any way he could, including cooking a hot meal on his birthday.
This is not the first time he has worked with Feed The Streets, the musician has been a regular volunteer and donor to that organization for years.
