De Buik launches ‘culinary subscription’ Club de Buik

The Randstad food platform De Buik is offering a subscription that gives its paying members online and offline benefits.

Club de Buik, as the new initiative of the enterprising food title is called, costs three euros per month.

Members to get priority to a look behind the scenes of select restaurants, culinary extras during a dinner, they are the first to receive the Buik Magazine in their mailbox and a monthly newsletter with insider tips.

Founder Gijsbregt Brouwer told Emerce: “We see it as a great opportunity for the catering industry to be connected in a pleasant way with real local enthusiasts.”

“For us it is a way to continue writing great stories and to divide our business among four elements: our catering business club De Garde, consumers through Club de Buik, partners and suppliers and, when necessary, advertisements through marketplaces. This is how we mature as an online platform and move towards the current trend of premium content and paid communities.”

De Buik originated in Rotterdam and was a household name among food fans there for many years. It started in Amsterdam in 2018 and Brouwer expanded to The Hague and Utrecht in the following years.

In 2021, the Rotterdam communications company Veenman+ became a major shareholder in the expanding culinary site De Buik.
