Delia Budeanu, one of the most famous TVR announcers, has died


Delia Budeanu, who for almost three decades was an announcer for Romanian Television, died, TVR Info announced on Saturday.

According to the quoted source, it debuted on TVR in 1970, on program 2, where it presented shows that included symphony concerts.

“Beyond the world of television, Delia Budeanu is also known for her active involvement in promoting Romanian culture, but also for supporting social and humanitarian causes. Her commitment to the community was recognized through a series of awards and distinctions, including the title of ‘Ambassador of Goodwill’, awarded by the United Nations”, TVR Info also states.

In 1997, after the death of her husband, the renowned foreign policy journalist Radu Budeanu, Delia Budeanu retired from public life.

The body of the former TV presenter will be deposited, on Sunday, at the Caşin Monastery in Bucharest, starting at 4:30 p.m., and the funeral will take place, on Monday, at the Ghighiu Monastery.
