Dell Technologies is approaching a major simplification of its portfolio of personal computers and laptops. These will be newly divided into three series: Dell, Dell Pro and Dell Pro Max. The company thus wants to significantly simplify the decision-making process for its customers.
“The personal computer is the most important personal productivity device in our lives that is being transformed by artificial intelligence,” said Michael Dell, Chairman and CEO of Dell Technologies, who introduced the changes.
“In our innovative portfolio, everyone can immediately recognize whether a given model is suitable for home use, study, professional work or maximum performance for demanding applications,” says Petr Zajíček, Client Solution Field Product Manager at Dell Technologies. “But what all computers have in common is that we emphasize their long battery life, optimal performance and support for AI tasks,” supplies.
For a large part of consumers, the very choice of a PC is associated with the need to process a huge amount of options and information. The choice is influenced by a number of factors such as brand, performance, graphics card, memory or materials from which the computers are made. A survey also showed this Accenture from spring 2024, according to which up to 74% of customers abandoned technology purchases because they felt overwhelmed by the offer. That is why Dell unifies its brand across the portfolio into three categories centered around the iconic corporate brand:
- Dell: For fun, school and work
- Dell Pro: Offers professional productivity.
- Dell Pro Max: Built for maximum performance.
The Dell and Dell Pro product lines also extend to monitors, accessories and services to provide a consistent customer experience across the entire portfolio of client solutions.
A portfolio tailored to work with artificial intelligence
Dell will now offer a wider choice of processors, while choosing the optimal variant will be easier for both end users and companies. A simplified portfolio of AI-ready computers offers a built-in NPU (Neural Processing Unit) hardware accelerator, with a choice of chips from different vendors. Dell is strategically expanding its offer with AMD Ryzen processors. The existing comprehensive offer of Intel processors will be expanded with the Intel Core Ultra Series 2 series, and the cooperation with Qualcomm will also continue, so that customers have the opportunity to choose the right device for each use case.
What the Dell, Dell Pro and Dell Pro Max product lines will offer:
- Longer endurance thanks to batteries that last even longer than 20 hours.
- The Dell Pro series offers a modern and professional design for users who need to work anywhere. Designed with durability in mind, it can withstand up to 3x more cycles of opening and closing the display and withstands minor drops or impacts better than competing devices. New cooling technologies have 20% better airflow, so your PC will run quietly no matter what environment it’s in.
- The top-of-the-line Dell Pro Max can handle intensive work even when working with large language models and processing a large amount of data using AI inference – that is, the use of artificial intelligence to make decisions in real time.
- From a corporate IT perspective, the Dell Pro range (including PCs, LCD panels and accessories) offers easy remote management to reduce operational costs, reduce installation time and increase availability.
- The Dell Pro and Dell Pro Max series are the first commercial laptops with a modular USB-C port that is up to four times more durable and easier to repair if damaged.
- The range of new computers and laptops is also complemented by high-end displays, such as the world’s first ever monitor with improved IPS Black technology with a contrast ratio of 3000:1 and the highest TUV certification for eye protection. The offer will also feature the world’s first QD-OLED monitor with 3D surround sound enhanced by AI. The new monitors build on Dell’s ten years of experience in the field of high-end displays.
As the use of artificial intelligence grows, developers need to optimize its use and tune AI models. Dell makes working with AI easy with its Dell Pro AI Studio, which uses hardware NPU accelerators. With tools, frameworks, templates and models validated by Dell, developers and IT administrators can quickly and easily create and manage AI software, regardless of the technology used.
In the Czech Republic, new Dell Technologies products will be available during the spring months.
