Denial of the claim that “an investigation has been launched into the bank accounts of retirees”

The Presidency’s Directorate of Communications’ Disinformation Combat Center announced that the claim in some press outlets, “An investigation has been launched into the bank accounts of retirees. They are being checked retrospectively for the last 5 years,” is not true.

In a statement made by the Center for Combating Disinformation, it was stated that the information that “the Ministry of Treasury and Finance has reached findings that some retirees’ accounts are being used by third parties or companies” is unfounded.

The statement underlined that the Ministry had not initiated any investigation into the bank accounts of retirees and included the following statements: “Do not believe in baseless allegations aimed at manipulating public opinion.”
