Deputy Nemkin: Hackers are capable of hacking a smartphone remotely

Anton Nemkin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications, spoke with RT about the possibility of hacking a smartphone remotely.

“Hackers can hack a smartphone remotely. One of the most common ways is to use malware, which can be installed on the device through infected applications, emails or links,” he emphasized.

Nemkin noted that another method of remote hacking is the use of vulnerabilities in the operating system or smartphone applications.

“Hackers are constantly looking for weak spots in software that can be used to perform malicious actions. For example, vulnerabilities in web browsers or instant messengers can allow hackers to run code on a device without the user’s knowledge. Regularly updating the operating system and applications to the latest versions helps reduce the risk of such attacks,” the parliamentarian believes.

Nemkin added that scammers can also hack through fake websites, text messages or emails.

“Users can accidentally give away their credentials or install malware, giving hackers remote access to their smartphone. It is important to be careful when clicking on links and downloading files from untrusted sources,” the RT source said.

Earlier, hackers hacked the Telegram chat bot for posting delayed messages Fleep Bot.
