DETAILS OF THE ACCIDENT IN THE LESKOVAC SCHOOL: Part of the classroom ceiling fell

WHEN part of the ceiling of the classroom on the second floor of the Leskovac Gymnasium, which is also used by the “Đuka Dinić” School of Economics, fell, two students were slightly injured.

They were helped at the General Hospital in Leskovac, and then they were sent to the Clinical Center in Niš to be examined by a child neurologist.

– The girls were examined by the neurologist on duty, but they were sent to Niš as a precaution, because our children’s neurologist is on vacation, and the practice requires an examination by that specialist. A complete diagnosis was made. There are no visible injuries on the videos – said Dr. Nebojša Dimitrijević, director of the Leskovac General Hospital.

Part of the ceiling collapsed during recess, between the second and third classes, and the girls were given first aid by the professors of the School of Economics. An ambulance was immediately called.

The school says that it is a classroom above which there is a terrace, and that the ceiling fell due to heavy rain that has been falling continuously for more than 48 hours in Leskovac. As mentioned, the waterproofing on the terrace has not been renewed since the school was built. The classroom where the ceiling fell, as well as the classroom next to it, were immediately closed, and the police were informed of everything.
