Deutsche Telekom increases profits by 6.4% – Telecommunications

Deutsche Telekom achieved earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of 11.1 billion euros in the third quarter, 6.4% more than a year earlier and slightly above the 11.05 billion expected by investors. analysts, the largest European telecommunications operator revealed this Thursday.

The German company is outperforming its European peers, driven largely by “performance” in Germany and the US. In the North American market, Deutsche Telekom controls T-Mobile US, which previously showed strong growth in the number of subscribers in the third quarter and revised its annual profit outlook upwards.

In the German market, service revenues grew 2.1% between July and September, totaling 5.65 billion euros. The operator’s focus on the domestic market has been centered on fiber networks and customer services, including a loyalty program for residential customers.

“The momentum for growth continues on both sides of the Atlantic”, highlighted Christian Illek, “chief financial officer” (CFO).

Quarterly organic revenues were 28.5 billion euros, an annual increase of 3.6%.

The German giant slightly revised its EBITDA estimate for this year, from 42.9 billion to 43 billion euros, and aims for EBITDA to grow between 4% and 6% per year until 2027, said the company’s CEO , Tim Höttges, at “capital markets day” last year.

Deutsche Telekom shares closed on Wednesday at 27.85 euros, losing 0.84%. Year to date, however, they appreciate 28%.
