The new 5G router from devolo is intended to be used whenever there is no fast internet or no wired broadband connection at all in the home, at least that’s how devolo sees it. The advantage of the 5G router is the wide range of connection options: In addition to WiFi 6 with a top speed of up to 3600 Mbit/s, the devolo 5G router is also equipped with a 2.5 Gbit/s port and a 1 Gbit/s port. An analogue telephone can also be connected via the FXS port. It is operated via the free devolo Home Network app (Android, iOS) and a convenient web UI. The 5G router from devolo is due to be released at the end of the year.

According to the manufacturer, the new Powerline flagship enables WiFi speeds of up to 3000 Mbit/s – a performance increase of almost 50 percent compared to its predecessor. Via Powerline, the adapters continue to transmit the Internet signal over the power line at up to 2400 Mbit/s to ensure stable, long-range and fast WiFi throughout the home thanks to integrated mesh technology. End devices can also be connected to two gigabit ports on a satellite adapter using an Ethernet cable. The new devolo Magic 2 WiFi 6 next family will be available at the end of the year as a single adapter, starter kit and multiroom kit.

New WiFi 6 and WiFi 7 USB sticks

With the devolo WiFi 6 Stick nano (USB 2.0) and WiFi 7 Stick (USB 3.0), even older computers and notebooks can benefit from increased network speed. Installation is particularly easy, as the respective USB adapters are integrated directly into the operating system, says devolo. Both WiFi sticks will be available at the end of the year.
