DHL and Wehkamp Retail Group today jointly opened the new DHL parcel point at Wehkamp’s head office in Zwolle. The parcel locker is located next to Wehkamp’s head office and offers local residents, Wehkamp employees and employees of nearby companies the opportunity to collect their parcel close to home and office.
Today, Peter Schukkert (Delivery Manager at Wehkamp) and Jeff Visser (Package Machines Manager at DHL) opened this latest parcel machine by symbolically delivering the first Wehkamp package into the machine together. Proof of the strong 36-year reliable relationship between Wehkamp and DHL.
With the new parcel point, there are now 50 DHL ServicePoints in Zwolle where customers can collect their DHL parcel, twelve of which are in the form of a parcel locker. With a unique emailed or in-app collection code, the parcel locker only opens for the recipient of the package in question.
The parcel locker at Wehkamp can also be recorded as a standard delivery option in the My DHL app, which has now been downloaded more than 5 million times. There are a total of 4800 DHL ServicePoints throughout the Netherlands.
40 percent of Wehkamp’s parcels are now delivered to a parcel point. That is a threefold increase compared to two years ago.
