However, the coach of the American Jordan Chiles filed an appeal, and the referees accepted it. Later, they increased her difficulty score by a tenth, and the athlete from the United States climbed to third place, out of five, ahead of Ana and Sabrina Voinea.

The next move was made by the Romanian Gymnastics Federation, which appealed to TAS. The institution in Lausanne gave the verdict, after hearings that lasted eight hours.

Thus, it was concluded that the Americans exceeded by four seconds the time in which the appeal could be submitted, which is why the mark had no reason to be increased by a tenth.

As a result, on August 10, TAS gave the verdict that the Olympic bronze medal in the floor final belongs to Ana Bărbosu. She received the award on August 16during a ceremony that took place on the esplanade at the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee.

But the story is apparently not over, as the American professional federation appealed to a higher court, the Federal Court of Lausanne, insisting that they filed the appeal in regulation time.
