Did you know how easy it is to remove the iPhone 16 battery? –

An iFixit employee showed us what the process looks like in practice.

Apple’s iPhone 16 product line was released a few days ago, so in addition to the first user feedback – which in many cases was not particularly encouraging – stress tests and teardown videos have also appeared. Of course, iFixit couldn’t stay out of the party either, so one of the company’s employees immediately took the new mobile to pieces. By the way, the colleague had a relatively easy task this year, since Apple made the repair manual available to users on the very first day.

The most exciting part of the disassembly process is undoubtedly related to the battery, which means that in this year’s update, Apple used an adhesive to attach it that is electrically detachable – according to the company’s guide, it can be removed in just a minute and a half.

In iFixit’s disassembly, we can follow the disassembly process, which really seems like child’s play. Although Apple added that it may take a bit longer to detach over time, iFixit now found that 20V current was enough to loosen the adhesive in five seconds (Apple’s manual says 30V can be used).

“I’m not sure there’s ever been a time when removing a battery has been this clean and smooth. All indications are that Apple has definitely stepped up in terms of repairability.”
