There are thousands of records of a leak that circulates through various channels. The credibility of the information is unknown, but there has still been no statement from official entities. The leak is dated August, more specifically August 10th.
After the publication of this leak, a service was also created to help users understand whether their data is on the list.
Change the password for the contato.gov.pt platform
For your protection, this is a good opportunity to change your platform access credentials.
Changing the password for the contato.gov.br platform can be done at any time. Your recovery may take some more time. If you request a new password and choose a letter as delivery method, the average time for receipt is 5 business days. The taxpayer can, however, choose the SMS option and also process it almost instantly (they must have trusted the telephone).
Before doing this, don't forget to set a password that is strong. Don't choose common passwords, as you may be in for surprises if someone manages to access your account.
To begin, you must authenticate on the Finance Portal.
Then search for passwordchoosing the option Change Access Data.
The platform will ask you to authenticate again and then the taxpayer must choose the option Change Password.
Finally, simply indicate the new password, which must have at least eight characters.
The taxpayer can always keep the new password with the letter sent to him. However, the best thing is that you keep it in your memory and don't write it down anywhere for security reasons.
