In yet another phishing attack, several users claimed to be receiving messages from the official Chave Móvel Digital number. The link contained in the SMS, however, is malicious.
As reported by several national media outlets, early this Thursday afternoon, several people claim to have received a message from the official Chave Móvel Digital number saying that the user activated Autenticacao.gov on a new device. In this case, a Samsung Galaxy A40s.
The message contains a link that supposedly redirects the user to a website from which they can revoke their activation. In yet another phishing attack, the website does not belong to the Portuguese Government, it merely mimics it, and is malicious. If you have received, or will receive, the message, do not open the link.
CNN Portugal confirmed with the digital mobile key helpline that several people are being affected by the message, and that the helpline is full. In turn, SIC Notícias contacted the Ministry of Youth and Modernization, confirming the existence of the attack.
The national entity regretted that phishing messages involving the Digital Mobile Key service have been recurring. In fact, CNN Portugal reports that, via X, several users have mentioned the same problem, with complaints being made in February, May and already in July of this year.
The original message, which is no longer available and was quickly classified as dangerous, is changing location, as CNN Portugal found when the page was still available.
Once again, the Government, which will provide further clarifications, appeals to users not to click on the hyperlinks received through these messages.
The Digital Mobile Key is a means of digital authentication that allows you to access various public or private portals, such as the Finance website, as well as sign digital documents.
