Nutritionist and gastroenterologist Nuria Dianova spoke about the benefits of tangerines, the rate of their consumption and contraindications.
According to her, these citrus fruits contain antioxidants and many vitamins needed in winter, including C. Tangerines contain aromatic oils that improve mood. “It is believed that the aroma of tangerine, like many citrus fruits, heals and has a certain effect on the psyche,” Dianova noted in an interview with “Moscow 24”.
Fruits are also a good source of fiber, which will ensure normal functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, the expert pointed out.
Speaking about the norm for consuming tangerines, Dianova explained that it is different for men and women. So, the first is recommended to eat no more than 200 g of fruit at a time, and the second – no more than 150 g.
The specialist also warned against overusing the product because of the histamine it contains, an amino acid that contributes to allergic reactions. In this regard, the nutritionist called for eating tangerines every other day. Those diagnosed with gastrointestinal diseases should completely avoid fruits, the doctor added.
