During the Christmas period, DIGI updated its mobile network. This update allowed an increase in communication speeds on 4G and 5G networks.
It was on December 24th that DIGI updated its mobile network, increasing 4G and 5G speeds for its customers. The expansion of the radio frequency spectrum used by the mobile network in the country allowed customers to enjoy a mobile service with even faster and more stable internet. According to DIGI, this improvement in the mobile network is yet another example of the commitment to providing quality services at fair prices.
According to the information, Ericsson antennas with support for 5G NR 8T8R (n78) were installed. In some places they are installed antenas Amphenol WB3X080X12F610 for "micro coverage" at 1800 MHz, and it has not yet been determined whether DCS will be used for 2G.
Tests carried out on the 4G and 5G network
- Location: Rana, Cascais
- Site: LICX1856
- Smartphone: realme x50 Pro 5G
- Applications: Network Signal Guru and CellMapper
Ready 4G
- B3 1800 MHz (15 MHz) + B7 2600 MHz (5 MHz)
- MIMO 4x4 256 QAM/64QAM
- Download Throughput: 263.60 Mbps
- Upload Throughput: 46.89 Mbps
Use: The 2600 MHz are still 5 MHz. The B8 900 MHz does not yet carry out Carrier Aggregation with the B3 1800 MHz + B7 2600 MHz.
Ready 5G
- B3 1800 MHz (15 MHz) + N41 2600 MHz (20 MHz)
- Download Throughput: 402.3 Mbps
- Upload Throughput: 61 Mbps
Use: O realme x50 Pro barely supports MIMO 2x2 on B3 + MIMO 4x4 on n41.
Digi Communications entered our country after acquiring eight lots of frequencies between 800 MHx and 3600MHz for 67 million euros in 2022. The company already has several employees in Portugal and the objective is to provide the best telecommunications services at the lowest price. It is worth noting that this is an unofficial map.
