Mr. A is accused of receiving gift certificates, etc. from SPC officials, then leaking the status of the investigation and recommending the destruction of evidence. It was found that Mr. B received a holiday gift from an SPC official and informed him of the status of the investigation.

The facts of their misconduct were revealed one after another during the recent trial of SPC executives. At the trial held at the Seoul Central District Court on the 25th of last month, it was first revealed that Mr. A had personally informed the SPC public relations executive director, whom he had known, of the investigation situation. Mr. B’s involvement was first revealed at the trial on the 2nd of this month.

The police announced that they had conducted a supervisory investigation into the two officers and notified the disciplinary department, and that they plan to request disciplinary action from the next disciplinary committee. However, it has been reported that the specific level or timing of disciplinary action has not yet been decided.

Meanwhile, SPC Chairman Heo Young-in and other officials were indicted on charges of urging 570 members of the Paris Baguette branch of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions’ Chemical Fiber Food Workers’ Union within its subsidiary PB Partners to withdraw from the union, and are currently undergoing first trial at the Seoul Central District Court.
