Discmans, which once replaced cassette players, are back. The FiiO company presented a CD player with a wireless connection at a pleasant price.
The so-called discmans were once a big hit. At one time, they replaced outdated cassette players, which were impractical and had their drawbacks – the cassette sometimes got stuck in them and the tape had to be manually rewound. In addition, the quality of the recording was not the highest either. In this respect, CD players brought a revolution. Compact discs were portable, durable and made it possible to listen to music in a much higher quality. More than twenty years ago, almost everyone wanted compact players attached to their belts. However, they did not stay on top for as long as cassette players. Rather quickly, they were replaced by smaller mp3 players that fit even in a trouser pocket.
Both Walkmans and Discmans still have their fans years later, who like to reminisce about the times long gone. And that’s exactly what the Chinese manufacturer of music accessories FiiO, which will launch a portable CD player called DM13 on the market in September, wants to satisfy. It will work similarly to a classic discman, but unlike classic headphones with a 3.5 and 4.4 mm jack, it will be possible to connect headphones to it wirelessly. It will also be possible to connect other Hi-Fi accessories and speakers to the player. Thanks to rechargeable Li-Ion batteries, it can play music continuously for eight hours, but it will also be possible to connect it to an adapter. It will also include ESP technology – electronic shock protection that will prevent skipping tracks.
If you were expecting a high price, you will be pleasantly surprised. FiiO plans to sell the CD player for $179 in five colors – silver, red, blue, titanium and black.
