The first four profiles were also removed from the package, so the file size was significantly reduced.
NVIDIA has released a major update to DLSS, available as version 3.8.10, and the main change is that the previously used operating profiles have been removed, so now only profiles E and F can be requested. The former is the default and is responsible for the main DLSS quality modes, while the latter is optimal for Ultra Performance and DLAA modes.
The new options are a good replacement for the previous B and D profiles, but the A, which fights against the ghosting effect, and the C profile, which is optimal for fast games, have not received a successor. The reason for this is that, in the case of new DLSS versions, NVIDIA strongly recommends providing their algorithm with the most important partial data, which the developers do, so the use of the A and C profiles in newer titles has become obsolete.
However, the change carries important information for those who are used to changing the DLSS binary files in individual games, because in the case of older titles, there is a chance that the individual programs still use profile A or C, so the new profile E or F is not certain with these , that always gives a favorable result. Of course, it should be noted that NVIDIA does not even recommend replacing the DLSS binary manually, mainly because the anti-cheat solution of online games can detect this as fraud.
The advantage of the new DLSS version is that the file size has been significantly reduced and that it no longer contains redundant profile modes, meaning that the entire system has been simplified.
