DMI predicts dry weather for the children for the Schools’ Exercise Day

By and large, it will be a weekend with typical autumn weather, although it is expected to remain mostly dry with rain and wind here and there.

That’s what Jens Lindskjold says, who is the meteorologist on duty at the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) on Friday morning.

Many Danish families are probably excited about what their children have in store when they go to the Schools’ Exercise Day, which takes place on Friday and marks the last day before the school children go on autumn holidays.

– The thousands of school children would probably like just a little bit of dry weather and not too much wind.

– And it actually looks very promising with just a few scattered showers, and the strong wind from last night (Thursday, ed.) has gradually subsided to just ordinary October wind, says Jens Lindskjold.

Later in the day, however, it is expected that the rain will come, and then it may well feel cold, says the meteorologist.

– When we look a little further into the day, there will be a round of showers, and then there is not much fun knowing that it is only 10-12 degrees in most places, he says.

In general, Saturday is probably the best day to find outdoor clothing.

– The wind has died down. The temperature suddenly becomes pleasant when it is at 12-13 degrees, and there will be sunshine for most of the country, says Jens Lindskjold.

In fact, across the country it looks to stay dry for most of the day. However, the most cloudless skies will probably be found in the south-eastern parts of the country.

– The chance of sun from a cloudless sky is greatest on Lolland, Falster and Bornholm – i.e. the areas around the Baltic Sea, he says.

On the night of Sunday, the weather goes wrong again, and clouds, rain and increasing winds wash over the country.

– Sunday will be similar to today, Friday, with showers and a bit of wind, where it’s a bit rougher, says Jens Lindskjold.

The temperature will rise on Sunday between 9 and 13 degrees.
